Even here in sunny South Africa, the philosophy of the Web 2.0 movement is spreading!
A great case in point is this new site/ ad for Cheverolet.
Essentially its a user generated commercial, where people send in thier clips in order for them to be compliled into a Chevy brand commercial. This is a great idea (you dont have to pay actors, scripting or shooting costs – im the tv business trust me i know)
Once again a very cool example of User generated conctent, but id be a bit worried about the clips quality. To film a clip and then compress it to send to an FTP site etc can severly lower the qulaity to no broadcast res!
Anyway will be interesting to see.
See the site here http://www.codeoftheroad.co.za/
